Sentiment High

Confidence in the property market is soaring, with Australian Property Investor Magazine’s Q2 2025 Property Sentiment Report recording its most optimistic reading in more than five years. A majority of respondents believe prices will continue to rise, with Queensland rated as the most attractive state for investment, followed by New South Wales, Victoria, and Western Australia.

APIM editor Craig Francis says investors are now the most active buyer group, with 69% of respondents planning to purchase within the next 12 months, up sharply from 57% the previous quarter. “Confidence is sky high as buyers anticipate further growth,” Francis says. He notes that houses remain the preferred property type, with demand shifting further toward detached homes over units.

With lending activity strong, new home sales lifting, rental growth re-accelerating, and sentiment rising, the Australian property market appears to be entering another confident phase — with investors leading the charge.
